Product Specific Information
Description:
IM7 monoclonal antibody reacts with all isoforms of mouse CD44 (Pgp-1). CD44 is expressed by hematopoietic and non-hematopoietic cells. Bone marrow myeloid cells and memory T cells highly express this antigen, and peripheral B and T cells can upregulate CD44 expression. CD44 functions as an adhesion molecule via binding to hyaluronate.

Use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested:
Tested on mouse splenocytes; ≤0.25 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration recommended.
Fluorophore Details:
APC-eFluor 780 emits at 780 nm and is excited with the Red laser (633 nm). Ensure instrument compatibility.
Light Sensitivity:
Sensitive to photo-induced oxidation; protect from light.
Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222) or Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333) for up to 3 days at 4°C in dark conditions with minimal impact on brightness.

Target Information
CD44 is a 100 kDa type 1 transmembrane glycoprotein expressed on human leukocytes, brain white matter, and epithelial cells. It acts as a receptor for hyaluronic acid (HA) and mediates cell-cell interaction, adhesion, and migration. CD44 plays roles in lymphocyte activation, recirculation, and homing. Expression may increase in carcinomas and relate to metastatic potential. Multiple isoforms exist due to complex alternative splicing. Disorders associated with CD44 dysfunction include superficial keratitis and lichen sclerosus.
