Target Information
CLIP170(also known as CLIP1) was initially identified as an intermediate filament-associated protein highly expressed in Reed-Sternberg cells, diagnostic for Hodgkin’s disease. It localizes at microtubule plus ends and is required for binding of endocytic carrier vesicles. CLIP170 interacts with LIS1 to regulate dynein/dynactin binding to microtubules and may influence lamellipodia formation and cell invasion by modulating kinesin and IQGAP1 release. At least two isoforms of CLIP170 are known.
