Preparation:
Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IGF-II. Anti-Human IGF-II-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and then biotinylated.

Sandwich ELISA:
To detect Human IGF-II by sandwich ELISA (using 100 µL/well antibody solution), a concentration of 0.25–1.0 µg/mL of this antibody is required.
This biotinylated polyclonal antibody, in conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IGF-II (500-P12) as a capture antibody, allows detection of at least 0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IGF-II.

Western Blot:
To detect hIGF-II by Western Blot analysis, use at a concentration of 0.1–0.2 µg/mL.
Used with compatible secondary reagents, the detection limit for Recombinant hIGF-II is 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under either reducing or non-reducing conditions.

The IGFs are mitogenic, polypeptide growth factors that stimulate the proliferation and survival of various cell types, including muscle, bone, and cartilage tissue in vitro.
IGFs are predominantly produced by the liver, although various tissues produce IGFs at distinctive times.
They belong to the Insulin gene family, which also includes insulin and relaxin.
IGFs are structurally and functionally similar to insulin but have much higher growth-promoting activity.
IGF-II expression is influenced by placenta lactogen, while IGF-I expression is regulated by growth hormone.
Both IGF-I and IGF-II signal through the tyrosine kinase type I receptor (IGF-IR), and IGF-II can also signal through the IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor.
Mature IGFs are generated by proteolytic processing of inactive precursor proteins containing N- and C-terminal propeptide regions.
