• Preparation: Produced from sera of rabbits immunized with highly pure Recombinant Human IGF-II. Anti-Human IGF-II-specific antibody was purified by affinity chromatography and biotinylated.
• Sandwich ELISA: For detection of Human IGF-II, use 0.25–1.0 µg/mL antibody solution (100 µL/well). In conjunction with PeproTech Polyclonal Anti-Human IGF-II (500-P12) as capture antibody, detects ≥0.2–0.4 ng/well of Recombinant Human IGF-II.
• Western Blot: Use at 0.1–0.2 µg/mL to detect hIGF-II. Detection limit 1.5–3.0 ng/lane under reducing or non-reducing conditions.
• Package: 500-P12BT-1MG is provided as 2 × 500 µg.

Target Information

The Insulin-like Growth Factors (IGFs) are mitogenic polypeptide growth factors that stimulate proliferation and survival of various cell types such as muscle, bone, and cartilage in vitro. IGFs are mainly produced by the liver but also by other tissues at specific developmental stages. They belong to the insulin gene family, which includes insulin and relaxin. Although structurally and functionally similar to insulin, IGFs exhibit higher growth-promoting activity.
IGF-II expression is influenced by placenta lactogen, while IGF-I is regulated by growth hormone. Both signal through the IGF-I receptor (IGF-IR), but IGF-II can also interact with the IGF-II/Mannose-6-phosphate receptor. Mature IGFs are generated by proteolytic processing of inactive precursors containing N- and C-terminal propeptides.
