Spermatogenic leucine zipper protein 1 (SPZ1)는 basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) 전사인자 계열의 단백질로, 고환 및 부고환에서 특이적으로 발현됩니다. 연구 결과에 따르면 SPZ1은 MAPK 신호 경로 하류에서 작용하여 세포 증식 및 종양 형성을 촉진합니다. 또한, PCNA 프로모터와의 상호작용을 통해 PCNA 유전자 발현을 증가시키며 세포 증식을 유도합니다.
