Product Specific Information
- For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final concentration of ~1 mg/mL.
- For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and function in mitochondrial protein synthesis. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit, with a higher protein-to-rRNA ratio (~75%) compared to prokaryotic ribosomes. Unlike prokaryotic ribosomes, mitoribosomes lack a 5S rRNA. The MRPS11 gene encodes a 28S subunit protein similar to ribosomal protein S11P family members. A pseudogene is located on chromosome 20, and multiple transcript variants exist.
