Product Specific Information

The monoclonal antibody 1A8-Ly6g reacts with mouse Ly-6G (Gr-1), a 25-kDa GPI protein expressed exclusively by neutrophils. It plays a role in neutrophil infiltration, recruitment, and migration, associating with B2 integrins CD11a and CD11b. The ligand for Ly-6G is currently unknown.

Unlike RB6-8C5, 1A8-Ly6g binds specifically to Ly-6G on neutrophils and has been used for neutrophil depletion with reported antagonist activity.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse bone marrow cells. Recommended ≤0.5 µg/test in 100 µL volume. Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Optimize antibody titration for specific assays.

Light Sensitivity: Protect from light due to photo-induced oxidation.
Fixation: Samples may be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days at 4°C in the dark with minimal impact on signal.

Target Information

Ly6G (Lymphocyte antigen 6 complex locus G6D) is part of the myeloid differentiation antigen Gr-1 complex with Ly6C. It is a 21–25 kDa protein expressed in myeloid-derived cells of the bone marrow and serves as a marker for neutrophils, monocytes, and granulocytes. Expression correlates with granulocyte differentiation and maturation. Ly6G is implicated in anti-tumor responses and may modulate local immune responses through inhibitory signaling.
