Target Information
The MRP3 (Multidrug Resistance-associated Protein 3) is a member of the ATP-binding cassette (ABC) transporter superfamily. ABC proteins are involved in transporting various molecules across cellular membranes and are grouped into several subfamilies (ABC1, MDR/TAP, MRP, ALD, OABP, GCN20, White). MRP3 belongs to the MRP subfamily, which is associated with multidrug resistance. Although its specific function is not fully determined, it may contribute to the biliary and intestinal excretion of organic anions. Multiple alternatively spliced variants have been identified, though not all have been fully characterized.
