Target Information
Tyrosine phosphorylation plays a key role in the transduction of mitogenic signals from transmembrane receptors and in oncogenic transformation mediated by tyrosine kinases. Phosphorylation of specific tyrosine residues is a primary mechanism in normal mitogenesis, cell cycle progression, and oncogenic transformation.
Antibodies that specifically recognize phosphorylated tyrosine residues are essential tools for studying tyrosine-phosphorylated proteins and related biochemical pathways.
The fluorescein (FITC) conjugate of clone PY20 anti-phosphotyrosine is particularly useful for detecting P-Tyr proteins in immunohistochemical and immunocytochemical protocols, especially when the use of a secondary antibody would complicate detection.
