Product Specific Information

The WM-15 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD13 (aminopeptidase N), a transmembrane ectoenzyme expressed on monocytes and granulocytes, but not lymphocytes. CD13 is also found in endothelial cells, epithelial cells, fibroblasts, kidney proximal tubules, intestine, and placenta.
CD13 functions include degradation of enkephalins and endorphins, peptide processing, amino acid scavenging, antigen processing, and cell adhesion/migration.

Applications Reported: WM-15 (WM15) antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.
Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and tested by flow cytometric analysis of lysed whole blood. Use at 5 µL (1 µg) per test (defined as staining a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL). Cell number may vary from 10⁵ to 10⁸ cells/test.
Excitation: 488 nm; Emission: 520 nm; Laser: Blue Laser.
Filtration: 0.2 µm post-manufacturing filtered.

Target Information

CD13 (ANPEP) is a 150–170 kDa type II transmembrane zinc-binding ectopeptidase expressed on various cell types. It catalyzes removal of neutral amino acids from small peptides, activating or inactivating bioactive peptides.
CD13 is involved in extracellular matrix degradation, antigen processing, signal transduction, inflammatory responses, cell motility, and vascularization.
It is expressed by granulocytes, monocytes, myeloid leukemia cells, and is linked to protection against apoptosis and poor carcinoma prognosis. CD13 also serves as an alpha receptor for coronavirus.
