Target Information
SHBG (Sex Hormone-Binding Globulin)은 간에서 분비되는 스테로이드 결합 단백질로, 스테로이드 반응 조절에 관여합니다. SHBG는 혈액 내에서 안드로겐과 에스트로겐을 운반하며, 동일하거나 유사한 단량체로 구성된 이합체 형태로 각각의 스테로이드 분자에 결합합니다. 낮은 혈장 SHBG 수치는 비만, 복부 지방, 대사 증후군과 관련이 있으며, 제2형 당뇨병의 발병을 예측하는 지표로 알려져 있습니다. 또한 SHBG 유전자의 다형성은 다낭성 난소 증후군(PCOS) 및 제2형 당뇨병과 연관되어 있습니다.
