Product Specific Information
This antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Macrophage receptor that binds to the apolipoprotein B48 (APOB) of dietary triglyceride (TG)-rich lipoproteins (TRL) or to a similar domain of APOB in hypertriglyceridemic very low density lipoprotein (HTG-VLDL). It binds and internalizes TRL outside the macrophage context and may provide essential lipids to reticuloendothelial cells. It could also be involved in foam cell formation under elevated TRL and remnant lipoprotein (RLP) conditions. Mediates rapid, high-affinity uptake of chylomicrons (CM), HTG-VLDL, and trypsinized VLDL devoid of APOE in vitro in macrophages.
