• Store vial at 4°C prior to opening.
• Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid; dilute only prior to immediate use.
• For extended storage, mix with equal volume of glycerol, aliquot, and freeze at -20°C or below.
• Avoid freeze/thaw cycles.
• Negligible cross-reactivity against other collagen types detected by ELISA.
• Reacts with most mammalian Type IV collagens; negligible cross-reactivity with Type I, II, III, V, or VI.
• Non-specific cross-reaction with other human serum or extracellular matrix proteins is negligible.

Target Information

Collagen IV is a major structural protein of the basement membrane in tissues such as kidneys, lungs, and skin. It forms a network-like scaffold providing mechanical stability. Composed of three alpha chains encoded by COL4A1, COL4A2, and COL4A3 genes. Mutations in these genes are associated with disorders like Alport syndrome and Goodpasture syndrome.
