The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is >95% (by SDS-PAGE).
Target Information
Mammalian mitochondrial ribosomal proteins are encoded by nuclear genes and function in mitochondrial protein synthesis. Mitochondrial ribosomes (mitoribosomes) consist of a small 28S subunit and a large 39S subunit, with approximately 75% protein to rRNA composition, unlike prokaryotic ribosomes. Mammalian mitoribosomes lack a 5S rRNA. The proteins comprising the mitoribosome vary across species, affecting sequence recognition and biochemical properties. The MRPL11 gene encodes a 39S subunit protein, with three transcript variants producing different isoforms. Pseudogenes are found on chromosomes 5q and 12q.
