Target Information
POTE8 (Prostate, ovary, testis-expressed protein on chromosome 8), also known as A26A1 (ANKRD26-like family A member 1) or POTEA (POTE ankyrin domain family, member A), is a 498 amino acid protein containing five ANK repeats. It is thought to participate in signaling events during reproductive development.
POTE8 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 8. Chromosome 8 spans approximately 146 million base pairs, encoding over 800 genes and is associated with various diseases and malignancies such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, Trisomy 8, Pfeiffer syndrome, congenital hypothyroidism, Waardenburg syndrome, and certain leukemias and lymphomas.
