Product Specific Information
- Store vial at 4°C before opening. Do not freeze.
- Stable at 4°C as an undiluted liquid.
- Dilute only prior to immediate use.
- Freezing alkaline phosphatase conjugates will result in a substantial loss of enzymatic activity.
- Immunoelectrophoresis shows a single precipitin arc against anti-Mouse Serum, anti-Alkaline Phosphatase, purified and partially purified GFP (Aequorea victoria).
- Reactivity observed against recombinant GFP by Western blot and ELISA; no cross-reactivity with RFP.
Target Information
Green Fluorescent Protein (GFP) from Aequorea victoria emits green light during bioluminescence. GFP is widely used as a reporter protein for gene expression and as a fusion tag in molecular and cellular biology.
It enables visualization of protein localization, movement, and subcellular dynamics in living cells.
GFP is a 27 kDa monomeric protein that forms a fluorescent pigment autonomously. It absorbs blue light (395 nm) and emits green light (508 nm) without the need for additional cofactors.
GFP fluorescence is stable and species-independent, suitable for various applications including:
- Gene expression and protein localization studies
- Protein-protein interaction assays (yeast two-hybrid system)
- Fluorescence resonance energy transfer (FRET) experiments
