Target Information
ANKRD28 is a putative regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 6 (PP6) involved in recognition of phosphoprotein substrates. It participates in PP6-mediated dephosphorylation of NFKBIE, opposing its degradation in response to TNF-alpha. ANKRD28 selectively inhibits PPP1C phosphatase activity and targets PPP1C to modulate HNRPK phosphorylation. It regulates phosphorylation of hnRNP-K at ser284, suggesting a role in selective dephosphorylation via PP1 targeting.
