ARPC4 유전자는 인간 Arp2/3 단백질 복합체의 7개 서브유닛 중 하나를 암호화합니다.
이 복합체는 세포 내 액틴 중합을 조절하며, 진핵생물 진화 전반에 걸쳐 보존되어 있습니다.
ARPC4는 p20 서브유닛으로서 액틴 핵형성과 F-actin에 대한 높은 친화성 결합에 필수적입니다.
대체 스플라이싱으로 인해 여러 전사 변이체가 존재하며, 인접한 유전자인 tubulin tyrosine ligase-like family, member 3와의 read-through 전사가 발생할 수 있습니다.
