This peptide corresponds to 15 amino acids near the amino terminus of human TLR3.
PEP-0314 can be used as a blocking peptide with polyclonal antibody PA5-20184.

Target Information

TLR3 (Toll-like receptor 3, CD283) is a member of the Toll-like receptor (TLR) family that plays a fundamental role in pathogen recognition and activation of innate immunity. TLRs are highly conserved from drosophila to humans and share structural and functional similarities.
TLRs recognize pathogen-associated molecular patterns (PAMPs) expressed on infectious agents and mediate cytokine production necessary for effective immunity. TLR3 is most abundantly expressed in placenta and pancreas, and restricted to the dendritic subpopulation of leukocytes. It recognizes dsRNA associated with viral infection and induces activation of NF-kappaB and production of type I interferons.
TLR3 may play a role in host defense against viruses. It signals through adaptor molecule TRIF, activating IRF-3 and NF-kB, leading to type I interferon induction and inflammatory cytokine production. TLR3 is known to recognize viral double-stranded RNA and has been shown to interact with viruses such as Influenza A and West Nile Virus.
