Click-iT Plus EdU Cell Proliferation imaging kits are optimized for fluorescence microscopy applications and provide a superior alternative to traditional proliferation assays.
In this assay, the modified thymidine analogue EdU (5-ethynyl-2'-deoxyuridine) is efficiently incorporated into newly synthesized DNA and fluorescently labeled with a bright, photostable Alexa Fluor™ 555 dye through a fast, highly specific, mild click reaction.

The kit includes all components needed to label and detect incorporated EdU and perform cell cycle analysis on adherent cell samples.
For cell cycle analysis, the kit includes Hoechst 33342 blue fluorescent dye.
Contains sufficient reagents for labeling 50 coverslips (18×18 mm) using 500 μL reaction buffer per test.

Avoid the Harsh Treatments Associated with BrdU Method

Measuring cell proliferation is essential for assessing cell health, genotoxicity, and anti-cancer drug efficacy.
Traditional BrdU-based assays require harsh treatments (HCl, heat, or enzymes) to denature DNA for antibody detection, which can damage cell morphology and reduce image quality.
In contrast, the Click-iT™ Plus EdU assay measures new DNA synthesis through a mild, catalyzed click reaction completed within 30 minutes.
This bioorthogonal labeling produces low background and high sensitivity while preserving:

• Cell morphology
• DNA integrity
• Antigen binding sites
• GFP fluorescence

Preserved DNA integrity enables additional staining for cell cycle analysis.
