Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL of distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

IGF1 (Insulin-like growth factor-1) is structurally and functionally related to insulin but exhibits higher growth-promoting activity. It induces various cellular responses including proliferation, differentiation, migration, and survival. IGF1 stimulates glucose transport in osteoblastic cells and enhances glycogen and DNA synthesis at lower concentrations than insulin.
In circulation, IGFs bind to IGFBPs, which extend their half-life and aid in tissue delivery. IGF-I activates the AKT signaling pathway, promoting proliferation and inhibiting apoptosis. Mature human IGF-I is 100% homologous with bovine and porcine proteins. Low IGF1 levels have been associated with Alzheimer’s disease.
Defects in the IGF1 gene can cause insulin-like growth factor 1 deficiency, and multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
