Product Specific Information
- Reconstitution: Add 15 µL or 50 µL of double distilled water (DDW), depending on sample size.
- The antibody ships as a lyophilized powder at room temperature.
- Upon arrival, store at -20°C.
- Reconstituted solution can be stored at 4°C for up to 1 week.
- For longer storage, aliquot and store at -20°C.
- Avoid repeated freeze/thaw cycles.
- Centrifuge all antibody preparations before use (10,000 × g, 5 min).
Target Information
KIR2 subunit family includes 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, and 2.4. Unlike G protein-coupled KIR3 subunits, KIR2.1 requires both phosphorylation by PKA and ATP hydrolysis for functional activity. KIR2.1 is expressed in the superior and inferior collicula and pontine region of the brain, moderating synaptic transmission. In the placenta, it is expressed throughout gestation in cytotrophoblast cells. In the kidney, KIR2.1 colocalizes with KIR5.1 in the proximal tubule. KIR2.1, 2.2, and 2.3 associate with membrane-associated guanylate kinase synapse-associated protein 97 (SAP97) in the cerebellum and heart. Phosphorylation of KIR2.2 by protein kinase A inhibits its association with SAP97.
