Target Information
Cardiac muscle myosin is a hexamer composed of two heavy chain subunits, two light chain subunits, and two regulatory subunits.
This gene encodes the alpha heavy chain subunit of cardiac myosin and is located approximately 4 kb downstream of the beta heavy chain subunit gene.
Mutations in MYH6 are associated with familial hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and atrial septal defect 3.
