Target Information
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the kinesin-like protein family. These proteins are microtubule-dependent molecular motors involved in intracellular organelle transport and chromosome movement during cell division.
This protein cross-bridges antiparallel microtubules and drives microtubule movement in vitro.
Alternative splicing results in two transcript variants encoding different isoforms.
