Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, we recommend adding 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments using this carrier-free antibody, perform an additional desalting step.
Recommended reagent: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL (Product #89882).

Target Information

WIBG is a key regulator of the exon junction complex (EJC), a multiprotein complex that associates immediately upstream of exon-exon junctions on mRNAs.
It serves as a positional landmark for the intron-exon structure of genes and directs post-transcriptional processes such as mRNA export, nonsense-mediated mRNA decay (NMD), and translation.
Acts as an EJC disassembly factor, enabling translation-dependent removal and recycling of EJC from spliced mRNAs.
Its association with the 40S ribosomal subunit likely prevents translation-independent EJC disassembly by restricting activity to translated mRNAs.
Interferes with NMD and enhances translation of spliced mRNAs, possibly by antagonizing EJC functions.
May bind RNA; however, RNA-binding relevance in vivo remains unclear. RNA-binding was detected by PubMed:14968132, but not by PubMed:19410547. [UniProt]
