Product Specific Information
Reconstitute in 50 µL sterile water and centrifuge to remove any insoluble material. Store thawed samples at 4°C for up to 2 weeks. Adding an appropriate antibacterial agent can extend shelf life. Diluted serum should be prepared as needed. For long-term stability, store in small aliquots at -20°C or lower. Glycerol (1:1) may be added for additional stability if compatible with intended use.
Target Information
This gene encodes the beta subunit of luteinizing hormone (LH), a member of the glycoprotein hormone beta chain family. LH is expressed in the pituitary gland and promotes spermatogenesis and ovulation by stimulating steroid synthesis in testes and ovaries. The LH-beta gene is located on chromosome 19q13.3, contiguous with the chorionic gonadotropin beta chain gene. Mutations can lead to hypogonadism, characterized by infertility and pseudohermaphroditism.
