Product Specific Information

The HIB19 monoclonal antibody reacts with human CD19, a 95 kDa transmembrane glycoprotein expressed by B cells during all developmental stages except terminally differentiated plasma cells. Follicular dendritic cells also express CD19. CD19 forms a multimolecular complex with CD21, CD81, Leu13, and MHC class II, associating with BCR to induce tyrosine phosphorylation, calcium flux, and B cell proliferation. The SJ25C1 and HIB19 antibodies recognize overlapping epitopes.

Applications Tested: Pre-titrated and validated for flow cytometric analysis of normal human peripheral blood cells.
Recommended Use: 5 µL (0.25 µg) per test in a final volume of 100 µL. Cell number may range from 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test.

Target Information

CD19 is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily with two Ig-like domains. It is expressed on 100% of peripheral B cells and some myeloid leukemia cells. CD19 acts as a signal-amplifying coreceptor for BCR, regulating normal and malignant B cell proliferation. Mutations in the CD19 gene can cause hypogammaglobulinemia, while overexpression leads to B cell hyperactivity.
