Product Specific Information
For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (e.g., Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
CYP2A6 encodes a member of the cytochrome P450 superfamily of enzymes. These monooxygenases catalyze reactions involved in drug metabolism and synthesis of cholesterol, steroids, and other lipids.
This protein localizes to the endoplasmic reticulum and its expression is induced by phenobarbital. It hydroxylates coumarin and metabolizes nicotine, aflatoxin B1, nitrosamines, and certain pharmaceuticals.
Individuals with specific allelic variants may exhibit poor metabolizer phenotypes. CYP2A6 is part of a large cluster of cytochrome P450 genes (CYP2A, CYP2B, CYP2F) on chromosome 19q. Formerly referred to as CYP2A3.
