Formerly sold as clone (S67/15).
1 µg/mL of MA5-27657 was sufficient for detection of TrpC5 in 20 µg of rat brain lysate by colorimetric immunoblot analysis using Goat anti-mouse IgG:HRP as the secondary antibody. Detects approximately 110 kDa.
Target Information
TRPC5 belongs to the transient receptor family and is one of seven mammalian TRPC proteins.
It forms a receptor-activated non-selective calcium permeant cation channel and can act alone or as a heteromultimer with TRPC1, TRPC3, and TRPC4.
TRPC5 interacts with calmodulin, CABP1, enkurin, NHERF, MX1, RNF24, and SESTD1.
It operates via phosphatidylinositol second messenger systems activated by receptor tyrosine kinases or G-protein coupled receptors.
TRPC5 may also be activated by intracellular calcium store depletion.
Diseases associated with TRPC5 include Hypertrophic Pyloric Stenosis and Pyloric Stenosis.
