Product Specific Information

The RM134L monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD252 (OX-40 Ligand), a member of the TNF superfamily. OX-40L is induced on mouse splenic B cells stimulated with anti-IgM and anti-CD40, but not expressed on resting or activated T cells. The OX-40/OX-40L interaction is involved in T cell-dependent humoral response. RM134L inhibits the costimulatory activity of mouse OX-40L transfected cells for anti-CD3-stimulated T cell proliferation.

Target Information

TNFSF4 (OX40 Ligand) is a type II membrane-bound, non-covalently linked homotrimeric protein. It is expressed on antigen-presenting cells (dendritic cells, activated B cells), vascular endothelial cells, mast cells, and NK cells. TNFSF4 signals through TNFRSF4 (OX40 receptor), primarily expressed on CD4+ T cells and certain activated CD8+ T cells. This signaling provides a costimulatory signal essential for effective T-cell activation, promoting proliferation, survival, and cytokine production (RANTES, IL-2, IL-3, IFN-γ). TNFRSF4/TNFSF4 interaction plays a critical role in immunotolerance.
