Product Specific Information

For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step (recommended: Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

Microtubules are intracellular dynamic polymers composed of conserved alpha/beta-tubulin heterodimers and microtubule-associated proteins (MAPs). They exhibit intrinsic polarity with dynamic plus ends and less dynamic minus ends, essential for processes such as mitosis, meiosis, cell shape maintenance, and intracellular transport.
Microtubules also enable cell motility via flagella and cilia. In mammalian cells, minus ends are anchored in microtubule organizing centers (MTOCs).
The GTP molecule is essential for tubulin heterodimer association and microtubule formation. Tubulin polymerization is reversible, and microtubules exhibit dynamic instability, alternating between growth and shortening phases.
Alpha-tubulin (~50 kDa) exists as part of soluble alpha/beta-tubulin dimers or polymerized microtubules, encoded by multiple tubulin genes forming distinct classes (six in humans).
