Description:
The HIP1 monoclonal antibody reacts with the human CD42b molecule, a 135 kDa transmembrane protein also known as platelet gpIb.

Applications Reported:
This HIP1 antibody has been reported for use in flow cytometric analysis.

Applications Tested:
This HIP1 antibody has been pre-diluted and tested by flow cytometric analysis of human platelets.
Recommended usage: 5 µL (0.5 µg) per test.
A test is defined as the amount (µg) of antibody that stains a cell sample in a final volume of 100 µL.
Cell number should be empirically determined (10⁵–10⁸ cells/test).

Light Sensitivity:
This tandem dye is sensitive to photo-induced oxidation. Protect vial and stained samples from light.

Fixation:
Samples can be stored in IC Fixation Buffer (Product #00-8222-49) or 1-step Fix/Lyse Solution (Product #00-5333-57) for up to 3 days in the dark at 4°C with minimal impact on brightness and FRET efficiency. Clone-specific performance should be determined empirically.

Target Information

CD42b is a platelet activation marker involved in coagulation and platelet aggregation. It interacts with extracellular matrix and adhesion molecules and is regulated by VEGF and PDGF.
CD42b forms part of the GPIb-IX-V receptor complex, critical for platelet-rich thrombus formation by tethering platelets to thrombogenic surfaces.
It binds von Willebrand factor (VWF), thrombin, coagulation factors XI and XII, high molecular weight kininogen, TSP-1, integrin Mac-1, and P-selectin.
CD42b is expressed on platelets and megakaryocytes. Mutations are associated with Bernard-Soulier syndrome and platelet-type von Willebrand disease.
