Target Information
Eotaxin-3 (also known as CCL26, Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 26) is a small cytokine belonging to the CC chemokine family. Chemokines regulate migration and localization of specific cell types via receptor interactions. Eotaxin-3 is chemotactic for eosinophils and basophils through binding to CCR3. It is expressed in tissues such as heart, lung, and ovary, and in endothelial cells stimulated by interleukin-4. The gene is located on human chromosome 7. Compared to eotaxin, Eotaxin-3 induces migration of eosinophils and basophils at approximately tenfold higher concentration.
