Product Specific Information

For immunohistochemistry (PFA fixed):

  • Incubate antibody for 30 minutes at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating tissue sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA (pH 9.0) for 45 minutes at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 minutes.

Target Information

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation and is a major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. It is produced as a single-chain precursor that is cleaved into light and heavy chains. The mature MPO forms a tetramer (2 light + 2 heavy chains). MPO generates hypohalous acids crucial for neutrophil microbicidal activity.
Diseases associated with MPO include Myeloperoxidase Deficiency and Familial Alzheimer’s Disease type 1.
