Product Specific Information

  • For immunohistochemistry (PFA-fixed): incubate antibody for 30 min at room temperature.
  • Staining of formalin-fixed tissues requires heating sections in 10 mM Tris with 1 mM EDTA, pH 9.0, for 45 min at 95°C, followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min.

Target Information

Myeloperoxidase (MPO) is a heme protein synthesized during myeloid differentiation and is a major component of neutrophil azurophilic granules. It is initially produced as a single-chain precursor and later cleaved into light and heavy chains. The mature MPO is a tetramer composed of two light and two heavy chains. MPO generates hypohalous acids, crucial for the microbicidal activity of neutrophils.
Diseases associated with MPO include Myeloperoxidase Deficiency and Familial Alzheimer’s Disease (type 1).
