Recombinant rabbit monoclonal antibodies are produced using in vitro expression systems by cloning specific antibody DNA sequences from immunoreactive rabbits. Individual clones are screened to select optimal candidates for production.

Target Information

BAF53A is a member of the actin-related protein (ARP) family, sharing significant sequence identity with conventional actins. Both actins and ARPs possess an ATP-binding cleft as a common structural feature.

ARPs participate in cellular processes such as vesicular transport, spindle orientation, nuclear migration, and chromatin remodeling. BAF53A encodes a 53 kDa subunit of the BAF (BRG1/brm-associated factor) complex, functionally related to the SWI/SNF complex in yeast and Drosophila. This complex facilitates transcriptional activation by counteracting chromatin-mediated repression.

Together with beta-actin, BAF53A is required for maximal ATPase activity of BRG1 and for chromatin/matrix association of the BAF complex. Three transcript variants encoding two protein isoforms have been described.
