This antibody detects endogenous levels of total KRT222 protein.
Target Information
KRT222, also known as KRT222P, is a 295 amino acid protein belonging to the intermediate filament family. The gene encoding KRT222P has been listed as a pseudogene, but translation has not been ruled out; thus it is treated as a protein-coding gene. It exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and maps to human chromosome 17, which encodes over 1,200 genes and includes key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1.
- p53: Maintains genetic integrity via DNA repair and apoptosis regulation.
- BRCA1: Involved in DNA repair; mutations are linked to early onset breast cancer and other malignancies.
