Product Specific Information
The antibody was affinity-purified from rabbit antiserum by affinity chromatography using an epitope-specific immunogen. The purity is greater than 95% as determined by SDS-PAGE.
Target Information
Ribosomes catalyze protein synthesis and consist of a small 40S subunit and a large 60S subunit, composed of 4 RNA species and approximately 80 distinct proteins.
RPS14 is a component of the 40S subunit and belongs to the S11P family of ribosomal proteins, located in the cytoplasm.
Transcript variants utilizing alternative transcription initiation sites have been described. Multiple processed pseudogenes are dispersed throughout the genome.
In Chinese hamster ovary cells, mutations in this gene can lead to resistance to emetine, a protein synthesis inhibitor.
Multiple alternatively spliced transcript variants encoding the same protein have been identified.
