Product Specific Information

The M1/70 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD11b, a 165–170 kDa integrin alphaM. CD11b associates with CD18 to form Mac-1 (αMβ2 integrin) and binds to CD54 (ICAM-1), C3bi, and fibrinogen.
Mac-1 is expressed on macrophages, NK cells, granulocytes, activated lymphocytes, and mouse B-1 cells. M1/70 also cross-reacts with human CD11b, enabling detection on monocytes, granulocytes, and NK cell subsets.
CD11b is involved in adhesive cell interactions through ligand binding.

Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Flow cytometric analysis of mouse bone marrow cells (≤0.25 µg per test).
Cell number range: 10⁵–10⁸ cells/test. Antibody titration recommended for optimal performance.

Target Information

CD11b (integrin alpha-M, ITGAM) is a 165 kDa adhesion molecule that associates with CD18 to form the αMβ2 integrin complex (Mac-1, CR3).
Expressed on monocytes/macrophages, granulocytes, lymphocytes, NK cells, dendritic cells, and microglia.
Functions as receptor for ICAMs, CD14, CD50, CD23, heparin, iC3b, fibrinogen, and Factor X—critical for cell-cell and cell-matrix interactions.
CD11b is a microglial marker and its expression varies with macrophage maturation.
Altered CD11b function is linked to systemic lupus erythematosus and ITGAM-related disease susceptibility.
