This antibody specifically recognizes Human STAT6.
Target Information
STAT6 is a transcription factor activated by cytokines such as interleukin-4 (IL-4) and IL-13. STAT6-deficient mice (Stat6-/-) show impaired IL-4-mediated functions including Th2 differentiation, expression of cell surface markers, T-cell proliferation, and immunoglobulin class switching to IgE.
STAT6 mRNA is expressed in peripheral blood lymphocytes, colon, intestine, ovary, prostate, thymus, spleen, kidney, liver, lung, and placenta. STAT6 plays a crucial role in Th2 immune responses and IL-4-mediated biological processes. Two isoforms, STAT6a and STAT6c, are naturally present.
