Product Specific Information
The 145-2C11 monoclonal antibody reacts with mouse CD3e, a 20 kDa subunit of the TCR complex. CD3e, together with gamma and delta chains, is essential for proper assembly and expression of the TCR complex. It is expressed by thymocytes and mature T cells and is used as a phenotypic marker for mouse T cells.
Each product includes:
- 1 vial of NovaFluor conjugate
- 1 vial of CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer
Applications Reported: Flow cytometric analysis
Applications Tested: Tested on mouse splenocytes; recommended ≤ 1.0 µg/test (100 µL final volume). Optimal titration suggested.
Note:
- NovaFluor dyes are incompatible with DNA intercalating viability dyes (e.g., PI, 7-AAD, DAPI).
- Use Invitrogen LIVE/DEAD Fixable Dead Cell stains for viability assays.
- CellBlox Plus Blocking Buffer (Cat. No. C001T06F01) is required for optimal staining. Add 5 µL per sample to antibody cocktails or single-color controls.
NovaFluor conjugates use Phiton™ technology based on nucleic acid dye structures, engineered for minimal spillover and optimized fluorescence performance.

Target Information
The CD3 subunit complex transduces antigen-recognition signals into T cells and regulates TCR surface expression. It consists of CD3 gamma, delta, epsilon, and zeta subunits, encoded by genes on chromosome 11. These subunits have cytoplasmic tails with tyrosine-based motifs that mediate signal transduction.
CD3 is expressed on 68–82% of peripheral blood lymphocytes and 65–85% of thymocytes, but not on B or NK cells. It plays roles in T cell activation, survival, and proliferation. Defects in CD3 genes are associated with CD3 immunodeficiency.
