Antibody detects endogenous levels of total MOV10L1.

Target Information

MOV10L1 Isoform 1:
ATP-dependent RNA helicase required during spermatogenesis to repress transposable elements and prevent their mobilization, which is essential for germline integrity. Acts via the piRNA metabolic process, mediating repression of transposable elements during meiosis by forming complexes with piRNAs and Piwi proteins, and governing methylation and subsequent repression of transposons. Specifically binds to piRNA precursors and promotes generation of intermediate piRNA processing fragments that are subsequently loaded to Piwi proteins. Displays 5′–3′ RNA unwinding activity, facilitating piRNA precursor processing.

MOV10L1 Isoform 2:
May act downstream of MEF2C during heart formation, functioning as a cardiac-specific suppressor of cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and cell cycle progression, potentially through regulation of CDKN1A (additional evidence required).
