For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to obtain a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, perform an additional desalting step using Zeba Spin Desalting Columns (7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).
Target Information
Estrogen Receptors (ER) belong to the steroid/thyroid hormone receptor superfamily of nuclear receptors.
The estrogen receptor is a ligand-activated transcription factor that, upon estrogen binding, undergoes conformational change enabling dimerization and binding to estrogen response elements (ERE) in DNA.
ER regulates gene transcription by recruiting coactivator or corepressor proteins.
There are two receptor forms, alpha (ESR1) and beta (ESR2), encoded by separate genes.
At least four isoforms of estrogen receptor-alpha are known (66 kDa, 53 kDa, 47 kDa, 35 kDa).
ERs are expressed in various tissues, essential for sexual development and reproductive function, and also play roles in bone and pathological processes such as breast cancer, endometrial cancer, and osteoporosis.
