For reconstitution, add 100 µL distilled water to achieve a final antibody concentration of approximately 1 mg/mL.
For conjugation experiments, an additional desalting step is recommended (Zeba Spin Desalting Columns, 7K MWCO, 0.5 mL, Product #89882).

Target Information

More than 99% of the vertebrate ocular lens consists of terminally differentiated lens fiber cells. Two lens-specific intermediate filament-like proteins, CP49 (phakinin) and filensin (product of BFSP1 gene), are expressed after fiber cell differentiation begins. Both proteins form part of the beaded filament (BF), a unique cytoskeletal structure.
Mutations in BFSP1 cause autosomal recessive cortical juvenile-onset cataract. Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been identified.
