  • For maximum recovery, please spin prior to use.
  • Unless noted below, aliquots of the 5 µg, 10 µg, and 20 µg sizes of kinase are not recommended; materials can be used in original packaging until exhausted.
  • For larger sizes, reduce freeze/thaw cycles by preparing aliquots (not below 20 µL).
  • Never store a kinase diluted.

Target Information

TEK receptor tyrosine kinase is expressed almost exclusively in endothelial cells. TEK signaling is critical for endothelial cell–smooth muscle cell communication during venous morphogenesis, and defects in TEK are linked to inherited venous malformations.
The ligand angiopoietin-1 binds to this receptor and mediates a signaling pathway involved in embryonic vascular development.
Immunoblotting studies show that TIE2 expression increases with thyroid-stimulating hormone and agents that elevate intracellular cAMP.
Hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs) expressing TIE2 are quiescent and antiapoptotic, forming a side population that adheres to osteoblasts in the bone marrow niche.
