M420AB targets IL-1 alpha in ELISA applications and shows reactivity with Human samples.
The immunogen is recombinant human IL-1 alpha.
M420AB detects IL-1 alpha (~18 kDa predicted molecular weight).
Biotinylated antibody M420AB (clone ILA8-H12) has been successfully paired as the detection antibody in a sandwich ELISA with capture antibody M700A (clone 2G1).
Typical dilutions for sandwich ELISA include:

• Coating: 1 µg/mL
• Detection: 0.125–0.25 µg/mL

Biotinylated antibody M420AB (clone ILA8-H12) and antibody M421A (clone ILA9-H18) have also been used in combination with recombinant IL1 alpha protein SIL1A in ELISA applications.

Target Information

IL-1 alpha (Interleukin-1 alpha) is a proinflammatory cytokine expressed by monocytes, macrophages, and dendritic cells.
It is encoded by the IL1A gene located on chromosome 2q13 and signals through IL-1RI and IL-1RII receptors, shared with IL-1 beta.
IL-1 alpha plays a crucial role in innate host defense by inducing production of other proinflammatory cytokines and initiating acute-phase responses.
Its activity can be moderated by IL-1 Receptor Antagonist (IL-1RA), which blocks receptor binding.
IL-1 alpha is pleiotropic, involved in immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis.
Produced as a proprotein, it is processed and released upon cell injury, inducing apoptosis.
The IL1A gene forms part of a cytokine gene cluster on chromosome 2.
IL-1 alpha regulates NF-kappaB and MAPK activity, stimulates IL6 and COX-2 expression, and enhances nitric oxide production.
Elevated IL-1 alpha levels are linked to chronic inflammatory diseases including rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, and multiple sclerosis.
