Target Information
PKN2 (PRK2), a close relative of the PKCs, is a regulator of mitosis and cytokinesis. It plays a role in:
- Cell cycle progression and actin cytoskeleton assembly
- Cell migration, adhesion, and tumor cell invasion
- Transcription activation signaling processes
PKN2 phosphorylates CTTN and HDAC5, regulates RhoA-dependent junction formation, and controls G2/M phase progression. It also modulates FYN kinase activity for skin cell adhesion and inhibits Akt pro-survival signaling. Additionally, PKN2 phosphorylates HCV NS5B, stimulating HCV RNA replication.
