Target Information
PKN2 (PRK2), a close relative of PKCs, is a regulator of mitosis and cytokinesis exit. It plays a role in regulating cell cycle progression, actin cytoskeleton assembly, cell migration, adhesion, tumor invasion, and transcription activation signaling.
Phosphorylates CTTN in hyaluronan-induced astrocytes, reducing its association with filamentous actin. Also phosphorylates HDAC5, impairing HDAC5 import.
Acts as a direct RhoA target required for maturation of primordial junctions into apical junctions in bronchial epithelial cells. It is essential for G2/M phase progression and cytokinesis abscission in an ECT2-dependent manner.
Stimulates FYN kinase activity necessary for cell-cell adhesion during keratinocyte differentiation. Regulates epithelial bladder cell migration and tumor invasion. Inhibits Akt pro-survival kinase activity and mediates Rho protein-induced transcriptional activation via SRF.
Phosphorylates HCV NS5B, stimulating HCV RNA replication.
