Target Information

Krueppel-like factors (KLFs) are a family of zinc finger-containing transcription factors involved in cell growth, proliferation, differentiation, and embryogenesis.
KLF3, along with KLF6, belongs to the Sp1-like/KLF family and may function as either an activator or repressor depending on promoter binding and coregulator interactions.
KLF6 is induced during hepatic stellate cell activation and regulates collagen I promoter activity, suggesting a role in tissue injury response.
KLF3 may play a role in hematopoiesis.
