Target Information
Mucins are high molecular weight glycoproteins with approximately 80% carbohydrate and 20% protein content. Gastric mucin is normally found in the human gastrointestinal tract. During colonic carcinogenesis, re-expression of gastric (or fetal colonic) mucin peptide cores leads to resurgence of gastric mucin reactivity.
